THANKFUL.............
FOR THE WIFE
WHO SAYS IT'S HOT DOGS TONIGHT,
BECAUSE SHE IS HOME WITH ME,
AND NOT OUT WITH SOMEONE ELSE.
FOR THE HUSBAND
WHO IS ON THE SOFA
BEING A COUCH POTATO,
BECAUSE HE IS HOME WITH ME
AND NOT OUT AT THE BARS.
FOR THE TEENAGER
WHO IS COMPLAINING ABOUT DOING DISHES
BECAUSE IT MEANS SHE IS AT HOME,
NOT ON THE STREETS.
FOR THE TAXES I PAY
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I AM EMPLOYED .
FOR THE MESS TO CLEAN AFTER A PARTY
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE
BEEN SURROUNDED BY FRIENDS.
FOR THE CLOTHES THAT FIT A LITTLE TOO SNUG
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I HAVE ENOUGH TO EAT.
FOR MY SHADOW THAT WATCHES ME WORK
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I AM OUT IN THE SUNSHINE
FOR A LAWN THAT NEEDS MOWING,
WINDOWS THAT NEED CLEANING,
AND GUTTERS THAT NEED FIXING
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE A HOME.
FOR ALL THE COMPLAINING
I HEAR ABOUT THE GOVERNMENT
BECAUSE IT MEANS
WE HAVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH..
FOR THE PARKING SPOT
I FIND AT THE FAR END OF THE PARKING LOT
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM CAPABLE OF WALKING AND I HAVE BEEN BLESSED
WITH TRANSPORTATION
FOR MY HUGE HEATING BILL
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM WARM.
FOR THE PILE OF LAUNDRY AND IRONING
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE CLOTHES TO WEAR.
and finally FOR THE ALARM THAT GOES OFF
IN THE EARLY MORNING HOURS
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM ALIVE.

18 down 42 to go.....
I have made 18 Christmas cards as of yesterday.....that means 42 are left to be made. Then hopefully I can dig into all the gifts I have planned to make.....my dad made some adorable snowman cut outs for the store (Crop*Paper*Scissors) they are to be decorated w/paper, then upholstery tacks are attached with little wire loopy's attached to the tacks and those loopy's will hold your holiday cards! How fun! There are also Christmas tree cut outs that can be done too. I only have a photo of the snowman to share (w/out the loopy's yet attached)- but if you check out Kristi O's blog she has a slide show with the Christmas tree and some other cute classes coming up.........you should also check out all my fave places to visit! I check them religiously everyday! and my man Tim Holtz now has a blog WOO HOO! That is all I have for today-Tonight Jayton has speech therapy so that is the highlight of my day. Oh ya, I have been trying to figure out how to make a neat header for my blog....I want to use a photo but it makes my kiddo's look like a fun house mirror. I will keep playing so beware of a wacky blog until I master what I want.

Advice for my fellow scrappers!
Tomorrow I will be working at Crop*Paper*Scissors so come visit and check out all the new product they have received. WOW!! Christmas is right around the corner and people LOVE when we create something for them as a gift! I am finishing up on a couple fun projects so be on the look out! Also, Cori & I will be cropping cuties on Sunday at the store 10-4 , cost is only $5 to come do what you love. Let me depart with something fun I stumbled across- HOW TRUE!!
Conceal and Deny
It happens every day. An otherwise in control women comes to the counter to purchase scrapbook supplies. Once we tell her the total, she states "My husbands going to kill me!" Are you all really married to ogres who yell every time you spend a penny on Scrapbooking supplies?
All you failed to do was conceal or properly explain your spending habits. And how do I do that, you ask?
Here are a few of my favorites................
*Destroy the evidence. Toss all bags and receipts in the trash at the curb. Slip your supplies into you existing stash and he'll never know.
*Cook your books. After you make a purchase just substitute the name of your local grocery store for the store name in the check registry and when he asks where all the money goes, tell him, "Hey, we have to eat" Caution: Watch out for duplicate checks!
*Bribe the Kids. Keep all potential informers on the payroll. An allowance raise or unlimited Nintendo time might buy their silence, however with toddlers, all bets are off. But hey, if you can sell them Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny. You'll think of something.
*If your efforts at concealment fail and you are caught unpacking your latest purchase, these last ditch excuses will come in handy.
"I've Had That Forever!" If you followed Tip 1, this will be easier than if a dated receipt is hanging out of the bag.
"It was on Sale!" This excuse does not generally go over well with men, but you can try.
The Guilt Trip. "I was working on your album as a surprise but now just forget it!" Most effective when accompanied by hysterical weeping.
Change the subject. Ask him if he's been working out lately. Give him "that look". Make him forget what he was asking you in the first place.
When all else fails, DENY Everything!

Weekend wind-down....
Another busy weekend is coming to an end. Friday I cleaned house and got most of the laundry done. So since my chores were done I was able to go down to Crop Paper Scissors and get some projects finished with Debbie, Cori, & Michelle. I can now say my 'drink' recipe cards are done- YEAH! Saturday the kids and I went down to Locamotive Park and helped decorate for Winter Spirit until Jayton wimped out on us. Then it was off to Walmart for the weekly shopping list. Uuugghh, it was busy, so annoying. Saturday night I volunteered at the Boys & Girls club auction which I love to do since I get to wear a fancy dress. I think it was my 8th or 9th year of volunteering?! I was wore out though this year and did not make it to eat breakfast- I went home to sleep! Got an extra hour -YEAH! Today I have been lazy, or pretty much in slow mode. I made 4 Christmas cards......then was bored doing that. I painted a cookie sheet to attempt to make a calendar- we will see how it looks. I have a few more projects buzzing in my head. I will post whatever I can finish- when ( & if ) I get done.

Trick or Treat!
Well, Halloween is now over! Now me telling the kids to stop eating so much candy is about to begin..... I love Halloween, but hate all the candy. My kids do not want to eat their dinner and I am too weak to not have a few pieces myself. Ashlyn & Jayton both had a good time trick or treating. This year Jayton was a boxer, and Ashlyn was a ghost. They both looked pretty cute. I was happy that the weather held out- no rain and it was not that cold.......
