Proud momma!

I am a proud momma.... my daughter enjoys my obsession- the scrapbook obsession! Ashlyn entered four scrapbook pages she did this past year in the
Nez Perce County Fair. She won on each layout she entered. She got one first place, two second places and a third...... She was pretty excited. I think this will get her motivated to scrapbook more. She loves getting any 'hand me downs' from me to create with. Now I have pictures of her with her layouts & ribbons to create a scrapbook page!!
The store had a booth at the fair too.... it turned out really cute. I was surprised that not many people had heard of the store. They have been in business almost a year now. But, we got the name out there and received a lot of expressed interest. Handed out a lot of coupons and told them about the website. I anticipate many more new faces in the store the next few weeks!

My baby starts school

My lil man Jayton has officially started school, pre-school at Grace Lutheran. I have to admit that I was just a tad bit apprehensive about the whole thing. He is the wild child of the two......But he loved it and was well behaved after all! Jayton cannot wait to go back today for his second day. I keep forgetting that he is a good kid when he is at Cori's or at school and let's us have it at night and on weekends since he has all this energy bursting at the seams from holding it in. I cannot wait to hear how his day goes today. Wed. he said they started to learn about the letter 'A', and when to say please & thank you. He said they even got to paint and make their hand print with paint. Little things like that are so exciting for kids.

Tonight Ashlyn is having her birthday sleepover....... lots of girls spending the night! I think 7 total. What was I thinking? I'll let ya know how it goes & show you all my newest grey hairs from it!!

Lil' Road Trip

Friday Jeff called and informed me that we were going to take a lil' trip over the weekend holiday. I was working at Crop Paper Scissors and assumed my days off would be filled with yard work & house work but the call came that changed what I was assuming. 6:oo am Saturday morning we hit the road.... Jeff, Jayton & I went to Missoula, Montana. (Ashlyn wasn't left at home alone- she went on her own road trip w/ Cori to Boise- her story should appear soon on her blog) anyway, I have not been to Missoula and I was told there is better shopping & no tax..... so I was ready for this trip! Out first mistake was not giving Jayton meds to prevent car sickness- oops! Not my fault. I had no idea the road to Missoula was curvy. He only got sick twice which is much less than the seven times Ashlyn got sick on her way to Boise with Cori. We finally did make it to Big Sky Country and started with some shopping- one of my favorite past times!! We spent the night we a friend of Jeff's who works at the dealership there that Karl Tyler also owns. Then we headed home the following day to do the things I assumed we would be doing had we been home earlier in the weekend..... yard work/house work! I did however start a fun lil' calendar that Krisit got in the store so I was pretty productive. My friend Toni came in to town from Wenatchee and I got to visit and have lunch with her too. The Labor Day weekend holiday was TOPS!!!- from working at CPS, to taking a mini trip, being crafty and seeing my best bud! Who could ask for a better weekend?

1st day of school

The first day of school was yesterday for Ashlyn. She is now in the 3rd grade. I cannot believe she will be turning 9 yrs old the 18th of this month! Time flies! Ashlyn loves school, she loves learning, loves all the kids in her class and thinks her teacher this year Mrs. Turner is wonderful! I remember being in the 3rd grade. I had just been transfered from McSorley to Webster since the class was too big and we lived right on the borderline of the two schools so I was bumped! I was scared having to go to a new school and make new friends and leave my friends from McSorley. But, I quickly adapted and learned to really like Webster. Then when 4th grade came I was sent back to McSorley! Jayton starts pre-school next week after Labor Day. This should be interesting. Stay tuned................

TAGGED.........

You have to post these rules before you give the facts.Players, you must list one fact that is somehow relevant to your life for each letter of their middle name. If you don’t have a middle name, use the middle name you would have liked to have had. When you are tagged you need to write your own blog-post containing your own middle name game facts. At the end of your blog-post, you need to choose one person for each letter of your middle name to tag. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

D - discount diva! Yep that is me... I love a good bargain, and I am known to find a discount out there if there is one. I think my nose just senses a % off and it leads me right to the sale. I hate, or rather refuse to pay full price for anything! Except I did splurge on a Coach bag....oops!!

A - advocate! I am an advocate & pathfinder for facial differences. When Jayton was born with a bilateral cleft lip & palate I discovered that resources were sparse in our area so I set off to find as much info as I could to educate myself and to help others who need assistance with questions, concerns or just need to vent. Visit www.cleftadvocate.com they were my first source of inspiration and have been there for me since day 1.

W - wallflower! Those that know me well may not realize that I am a wallflower. I am shy and I have a hard time making the first step in approaching people. It is not such a great thing because some people think I am a bitch at first. But, then they love me- who wouldn't!!

N - neat & tidy! I am a neat freak..... I have to have things in their appropriate place. Nothing on the counters. Hate shoes laying around. I have to vacumn daily- or at least wish I could everyday.

TAGGING................ ERIN!!

HOT AUGUST NIGHTS!

In our lil town of Lewiston August is the month! Out city hosts HOT AUGUST NIGHTS which is all about cars, music & fun.......the tempature is always close to 100 so that is the hot part. Friday night we took the Chevelle downtown to cruise the gut. There were people on both sides of the street watching all the cars and there were police everywhere since it tends to get wild with that many people. Jayton hates the loud cars and was holding his hands over his ears the whole time and asked when we were going to go home because his arms were tired of covering his ears. So, Jeff took us home and went back down in the '35 Chevy. Saturday morning I was at the scrapbook early in the A.M. for the 'yard sale' they had. I made some good money selling some goods just to make room for more stuff I cannot live without. Saturday there were hundreds of cars downtown for the carshow, they block main street and cars fill it from beginning to end. We took the Chevelle and the '35 to Napa for the lil carshow they have & checked out the cars and the antique shops. I want to find an old scale for the kitchen and I am always looking for old buttons! Poor Jayton's feet were black from walking all day, flip flops are not good, I still have no idea how his feet got sooooooo dirty. Saturday night we went to a party at Ape & B's house. They live close to Pioneer Park so we can hear the music. They had some yummy food and we listened to 80's music which April cannot stand. But, it brings back memories for the rest of us older folk!
